Colombianite, also known as Piedra Rayo (a name given to this stone from the Muisca Tribe) is an incredibly high-vibration, ancient pseudotektite stone. Piedra Rayo translates to "Light Stone" or "Lightning Stone" and is believed to have been the "Cintamani Stone" from Sanskrit literature and teachings; a wish-fulfilling gem revered in Buddhist and Hindu traditions as a source of immortality and spiritual awakening. These beautiful gemstones are from the Caucca River area, Valle Del Cauca, of Columbia.

These beautiful gems are still being studied and fully understood. Some theorize them to be tektite or impact glass - fused in the fires of a meteorite impact. Recently they have discovered a crater that supports this theory - the Cali Crater. The Cali Crater is located in the Cauca sub-basin between the Western and Central Colombian Cordillera, SE of Cali. Some geology researchers claim the chemical analysis of these amazing glasses shows higher than normal levels of titanium and aluminum which further supports this theory. They call this possible tektite variety calitites (so named after the Cali crater), estimating their age to be around 3 million years old.
Another theory claims that these are a unique form of weathered obsidian. In this model, these stones are the ancient remnants, or 'hearts' of grandfather obsidian boulders. The last remaining gems of their 'species'. Under this theory, these natural glasses have gone through many states of decomposition and recomposition over millions of years.
