Description
Sandstone is a type of sedimentary rock composed of sand grains that have been cemented together with clay, feldspar, calcite or quartz. The colors of this stone range from deep browns and reds to creamy white with the rare instance of pink or purple. The colors are from the presence of other minerals in the sand, for example, iron gives sandstone a lovely rusty brown color.
Created naturally by wind or water, this stone is often referred to as a stone of creativity. It helps us to keep from becoming distracted when we need to focus, even during meditation. This stone is also said to aid in strengthening relationships within groups and community. Sandstone can help you keep your mood swings from swinging too far in either direction enabling you a more balanced emotional state.
Using sandstone:
- Add sandstone to a crystal grid with sunstone for expanding your consciousness with any aspects of sandstone, for example, you may also wish to add amethyst for helping with not only identifying but reducing mood swings.
- Meditation with sandstone will help guide you towards a more balanced emotional state or even help guide you out of a creative block
