Undertaken in 1938 and completed in 1943, this deck combines Aliester Crowley's inspired ideas on restructuring the traditional pictoral symbolism of the ancient wisdom of the tarot. With Lady Frieda Harris's color-drenched Art Deco interpretations clarifying and augmenting Crowley's intricate esoteric theories under his instruction. That is to say that the Thoth deck adds Crowley's intensive understanding of the occult with brilliant illustration to expand upon the original tarot, as he instructed within the Book of Thoth.
