Description

Stevia is an evergreen subshrub that is native to Paraguay and Brazil. This plant is hardy in zones 10 to 12; otherwise, it is grown as an annual. This plant tends to get a bit leggy, cut them back to harvest, and encourage lower branch growth.

Spiritual and Magickal Usage:
  • Add stevia to herbal incenses to lift your spiritual body energy to the higher vibrations of pleasure and life's sweetness.
  • Stevia can be added to spells and rituals for healing and raising your energetic vibration.
Herbal Uses:
  • Add stevia leaves (fresh, dried, extracted, or powdered) to recipes as a substitute for sugar.
  • Make a tincture from your plants and keep it in 1 or 2-ounce dropper jars to carry with you for sweetening drinks while out.
Cultivation:
Stevia prefers full sun to partial shade, humidity, and plenty of water. These plants thrive in fertile garden soil and do well in container gardens. This is a heat-dependent germinator and will do best if sown just under the surface and tamped well. Keep this plant evenly moist and in direct sun or under lights in a greenhouse with at 80-85 degrees Fahrenheit. Germination occurs in one to two weeks. It is possible to direct-seed stevia in the southern states or the summer season in the northern states.
