The dried leaf and flowering tops may be made into a tea or tincture to treat colds, pneumonia, and influenza. Boneset has been associated with healing, travel, money, and protection. Hanging tied bundles of boneset over doorways is said to repel ghosts. In some traditions, it is used to aid in divination.
Cultivation: Hardy in zones 4-9. Sow the seeds on the surface, tamp in, and keep evenly moist until germination. It will usually take between 1 and 3 weeks for germination with spotty germination being normal. This plant prefers partial shade to full sun and moist soils.
