Evening Zen incense is a reliable companion at a busy day's end: light a stick and drift into the late hours.
Sandalwood, patchouli, clove and benzoin are combined in perfect proportions, making Evening Zen the beloved fragrance of many incense fans.
Shoyeido's Zen Incense is an ideal companion for meditation, quiet reflection, or simply to scent a large room. Each 13-inch stick is three times thicker than our other stick incense, with a two-hour burning time. Many customers use them as time-keeping tools for meditation, or even for outdoor gatherings. No wooden cores means you'll enjoy three subtle, natural, extruded fragrances -- without needless filler.
Lady Lorien's impressions: This incense is a deeply spiritual one for me. It's woody, dense, and rich with oil-heavy woods, all the while carrying the gentle sweetness of clove and patchouli through the air. This blend creates a sense of sitting under the stars near a warm, crackling fire in the middle of nowhere. Every ingredient listed shows up while this burns, with none of them vying for my attention making for a very relaxing experience. The incense masters showed great wisdom with their inclusion of benzoin here as it brings a velvety smoothness to the overall blend. I will say that those of you who prefer a lighter fragrance or don't particularly like a heavier wood scent will likely not enjoy this one at first. If you're unsure, do consider picking up one of the Zen Incense sampler packs and give it a try. I'd recommend lighting it and letting your stick burn 1/3 of the way down then putting it out and setting it aside to try again later. It took me a couple of sessions to really appreciate this blend, but I'm so glad that I gave it a chance. It's a perfect evening incense and the fragrant woods, subtle spices, sweet patchouli, and creamy benzoin linger long after the incense has completed its burn.
